Days after the South Korean military court sentenced the disgraced K-pop star Seungri to three years in prison, he is reportedly planning to appeal.
The former BIGBANG member was also fined 1.15 billion won ($ 989,000).
On Aug. 18, Star Today News reported that Seungri’s legal representatives had voiced the singer’s plan to appeal the verdict.
The K-pop star was reportedly due to appeal the verdict for dismissing the charges during his ten-month trial. However, he has reportedly not yet filed his appeal.
Under current military law, the defendant can appeal within seven days of receiving the verdict.
Seungri is reportedly being transferred from active military service to war work. However, if he does appeal, it is very likely that he will do his full military service and not be dismissed.
