Naomi Osaka is currently one of the most famous tennis stars in the world. She became the first Japanese female player to win a Grand Slam title when she won the US Open in 2018 and was voted # 1 by the Women’s Tennis Association.
Osaka’s life is no doubt about tennis, but she also has time for other hobbies. Osaka, for example, is a huge fan of BTS and even has a fan account for them on Instagram.

Naomi Osaka played a lesser-known BTS song while warming up the game
Osaka recently caught the attention of BTS fans around the world. While warming up before her match on July 27th against Marketa Vondrousova during the 2020 Olympics, she played the BTS song “Dream Glow”.
This was a very special moment for BTS fans because “Dream Glow” is not a well-known track. It was a collaboration with Charli XCX and was released in 2019 as part of the soundtrack for the game BTS World.
Many fans on social media took this as a sign that Osaka is really a part of the BTS fandom ARMY.

Given the power of ARMY around the world, fan accounts for BTS can be found all over social media. Apparently Osaka once had a fan account itself.
In July last year, Osaka shared this information in a tweet: “Fun fact: I once had an IG site called ‘free hobi’s brow’. And that’s on Bangtan Sonyeondan. “
The name refers to the desire of BTS rappers J-Hope and K-pop fans for idols to slide their bangs back to show their foreheads. J-Hope’s hairstyles often feature bangs, so this seemed like a fitting name for Osaka’s account.
Osaka has shown their love for BTS in other ways on social media as well. In 2019, a few weeks after the release of the album Map of the Soul: Persona, she spoke about the song “Make It Right”. “You haven’t heard from me, but this is the best song on the album lol,” Osaka wrote on Twitter.
Earlier this year, as shared on Reddit, a fan asked Osaka on Instagram to name her favorite K-pop idol. She posted a throwback video on her Instagram story about BTS receiving an award at the Melon Music Awards in 2015.

Like many BTS fans, Osaka listens to other K-pop artists. In fact, she was already into other big names in K-pop before she became a fan of BTS.
“I came in BIGBANG and 2NE1, especially in CL,” she said according to WTA Tennis at a press conference for the Mutua Madrid Open 2019. “I don’t know the year, roughly when [2NE1’s 2014 album] Crush and so came out. “
She added, “And then I just saw BTS do a lot of similar things so I wondered who are these kids? Then I slowly started to get into it during the ‘I Need U’ era. “
