Looks like ARMYs aren’t the only ones confused by the nominations. American Journalist Kevin Frazier Recently Gained Attention After His Interview With CBSN News.
BTS (Bangtan Boys) was nominated for the 2022 Grammy Awards in the “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” category for “Butter.” Many fans were disappointed that they only got one nomination.
But it looks like ARMYs aren’t the only ones confused by the nominations. American journalist Kevin Frazier recently caught the attention of fans after his interview with CBSN News.
Kevin Frazier shares his views on BTS and their nominations in the video, especially his surprise that they were only nominated in one category. “Maybe the voting hasn’t gone global because they (BTS) are not in the four big categories,” commented Frazier.
But it wasn’t just BTS’ popularity and lack of nominations that led to this conclusion and surprise. Frazier then looked at the group’s achievements over the years.
“I thought bands like BTS, who continue to sell stadiums and a few of their other songs in their work, should have been nominated for the big four categories, but it’s not,” he said.
For Frazier, this is what stands out the most to him about the nominations. He also explained that BTS’s recognition and fame is global and should result in more recognition through Grammy nominations.
To be nominated, artists must enter themselves into a category. In October, a list was released, showing that BTS had applied for nominations in several categories, but only one was chosen, much to the surprise of fans.
While it is still a great honor to be nominated, fans believe that BTS deserves more considering their achievements and success over the past year. Kevin Frazier’s comment caught ARMY’s attention because it was considered true.
