Both Olivia Rodrigo and Blackpink’s Rosé attended their first-ever Met Gala last month, and the two ended up spending a big portion of the evening together. Teen Vogue’s senior entertainment editor, P. Claire Dodson, who wrote the magazine’s new cover story on Rodrigo, shared part of their transcript that didn’t make it into the story where Rodrigo detailed her Met Gala experience with Rosé. They were seated next to each other and were friends before the night, actually.
Rodrigo had nothing but kind words to say about the K-pop superstar. “She’s the best,” Rodrigo said. “We’d hung out before, and she’s actually the sweetest angel alive. I was so happy I was sitting next to hear because I was so nervous and when I sat down it was like, ‘Oh my god I have a friend here.’ She’s absolutely the best, couldn’t sing her praises enough. She’s so talented. Nicest person in the world too.”
Olivia Rodrigo adds to an already star-studded list of friends in the music industry, discussing her budding friendship with BLACKPINK’s Rosé in a new interview.
Fans of the popular K-pop group might recall the pair’s attention-grabbing Instagram selfie from last month’s 2021 Met Gala, where the two posed alongside Talia Ryder, the star of Rodrigo’s “deja vu” music video. Rodrigo shared more details about the events of that night with Rosé to Teen Vogue’s P. Claire Dodson, which didn’t appear in the final version of the magazine feature, but a transcript of the anecdote was posted on the writer’s Twitter account.
“She’s the best,” Rodrigo said of spending time with Rosé, according to the tweeted transcript. “We’d hung out before, and she’s actually the sweetest angel alive. I was so happy I was sitting next to her because I was so nervous, and when I sat down it was like, oh my God I have a friend here. She’s absolutely the best, couldn’t sing her praises enough. She’s so talented. Nicest person in the world too.”
Last month at the Met, Rodrigo and Rosé arrived separately to the festivities donning Yves Saint Laurent pieces. Rodrigo wore an all-black, punk-inspired bodysuit, seemingly inspired by the themes of her debut record Sour, while Rosé made Met history alongside CL as the first K-pop artists to walk the gala’s red carpet.
The pair’s growing relationship didn’t just start at the 2021 Met Gala: They were also spotted out at dinner back in July with stylist Devon Carlson and director Petra Collins, both frequent collaborators of Rodrigo’s. The fact that both artists are signed to Interscope Records sparked rumors of a possible collaboration.
BLACKPINK’s ROSÉ was spotted eating dinner with Olivia Rodrigo, Devon Carlson, and Petra Collins yesterday.
A Look at BLACKPINK’s Most Stylish Fashion Week Outfits
Rosé, Jisoo, Jennie and Lisa never miss.
If there’s anyone who can command attention at the starry front rows of fashion weeks these days, it’s the members of BLACKPINK. It’s no secret that the K-pop group, formed by Jisoo, Rosé, Jennie and Lisa, has become not only one of the biggest acts in music, but also an influential name in fashion. From their chart-topping hits to their showstopping style on and off the stage, the quartet is a force to be reckoned with.
During Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2022, the first to arrive the French capital were Jisoo and Rosé, who attended Dior and Saint Laurent‘s presentations respectively. Seated front row, Jisoo wore a mini dress embroidered with a graphic of the ancient Greek goddess Athena, and accessorized with a micro Lady Dior bag in gold and silver. Rosé, who looked Parisian chic with a low ponytail and soft, smokey eyes, styled her little black dress with knee-high boots and a gold chain choker with pearls.
The final member to make an appearance at the event was Jennie, who was invited to Chanel’s SS22 show. The singer stunned in a striking coral red two-piece ensemble featuring a cropped vest and a mini skirt crafted from bouclé tweed. For accessories, Jennie went for a pearl choker and a double “C” logo necklace, as well as Coco Crush rings and a glass pearl belt. A red Chanel bag and a pair of black sandal heels completed her look.
Despite being spotted at the Incheon Airport leaving for France, CELINE and BVLGARI global ambassador Lisa was unfortunately absent this season — it’s reported that her agency preferred she did not attend any events while in Paris due to COVID-related reasons. The singer and rapper was seen wearing a tweed Chasseur jacket, CELINE’s Romy bag and white sneakers to the airport.
Until the next season arrives, take a look at Jisoo, Rosé, Jennie and Lisa’s most stylish looks from previous fashion weeks below.
